| I just don't understand people. We have so many self-defense mechanisms
and warped views of reality in order to relieve cognitive dissonance.
Why are we so weak? How are we so blind from the truth when it is right
in front of us? Our actions do not align with our words, and our wants
and needs change on a whim. Is is so hard for us to see the very things
that everyone else can point out to us? How can you say you love
someone when just a week earlier you were telling the same thing to
someone else? and the week before that...someone else! Why do people
use the word love so readily? Love is a powerful emotion that must be
developed and nurtured. People throw it out the same way they use verbs
like "run" or "see". You don't love someone if you move so quickly onto
the next person, and then the next and the next. You are using them to
fool yourself into believing that you have something special. Why is it
that you can generate such a convincing feeling of security and
belonging (to yourself anyway) when you have placed them on such a
shaky surface? Your feelings aren't real, they are a mirage and yet you
feel so secure in them. I guess I will never understand human
nature...*sigh*
